Farrlacey Mill

Farrlacey Mill is owned by Alpaca enthusiasts, Elaine and Les Reetham.

For some time before buying the Mill Elaine had an interest in the concept of keeping alpacas, the cute look and calming nature being a big factor, also with the possibility of making an income from them.

In the spring of 2007 the decision was made to take their interest further and they invested in four girls who are based at Great Carlton, near to Louth. At first Sabrina, Cleo and Kay were delivered, Belinda followed a month later after giving birth to Maggie May, a beautiful rose grey female cria.

In August Sabrina gave birth to a lovely white make cria who they have called Schubert (Schui) and in November 2007 they purchased a stud male, a stunning young man Albersito.

Elaine has been a keen knitter for over thirty years, and so appreciates the unique qualities of alpaca fibres, and from this she became enthused in the art of processing the alpaca fleeces to produce her own alpaca wool and make her own alpaca scarfes, hats, bags and clothes.

Les and Elaine are now delighted to have bought the Mill and look forward to meeting with alpaca enthusiasts from all over the Europe.
